How it works
Understand your EMI before you apply
Use this estimate to compare tenures, test a higher down payment and see the cost of borrowing before discussing the final offer with your lender.
EMI formula
EMI = P x r x (1 + r)^n / ((1 + r)^n - 1)
P = financed amount, r = monthly interest rate, n = total monthly instalments.
How is the monthly EMI calculated?+
The calculator uses the standard reducing-balance loan formula. It applies the monthly interest rate to the financed amount across the selected number of monthly instalments.
What amount is treated as the loan?+
It starts with the on-road car price, subtracts your down payment, and adds the processing fee only when you choose to finance that fee.
Why can a lender's EMI differ from this estimate?+
Your final EMI can change with the approved rate, exact disbursal date, insurance or add-ons financed by the bank, fee structure and the lender's rounding method.
How does prepayment affect the loan?+
The estimate assumes a one-off payment after 12 EMIs while keeping the EMI unchanged. In most cases this shortens tenure and reduces future interest, subject to your lender's terms.
