Finance formula
Loan amount = car price - down payment + financed fees
EMI and interest are calculated from the selected loan amount, rate and tenure.
What is a sensible down payment for a car?+
A larger down payment lowers both the financed amount and the interest paid over time. Keep enough cash aside for insurance, registration and an emergency reserve instead of using every available rupee.
Does a larger down payment always lower the EMI?+
Yes. The loan is calculated after subtracting your upfront contribution, so increasing the down payment reduces the principal and therefore the EMI.
Should I finance the loan processing fee?+
Financing a fee protects your immediate cash balance but raises the loan principal and interest. Compare both routes with the lender's written offer.
